This amendment provides additional information to firms responding to RFP #17-1716GPS Bus Trackerissued by the Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority (Tulsa Transit).

Purpose: This amendment answers question posed by potential proposers about the project.

Questions:

  1. Are you currently using a software package for your fixed route scheduling and if so, what?

Yes, we are currently using Trapeze.

  1. What, if any, are you currently using for your ITS provider?

Currently, we are not working with any vendor regarding an ITS solution.

  1. The RFP document mentions that the system must support Internet Explorer.Are you referring to the dispatching tools and that they must be web based?

Yes, we are referring to the dispatching tools, but are not required to be web based.

  1. The RFP document states that the installation must be complete within 45 days. This seems a little aggressive. Would you be open to expanding the project length out?

Tulsa Transit would be willing to extend the completion deadline to a mutually agreed upon timetable between the parties.

  1. What is the anticipated budget for this procurement?

We are currently anticipating the base project to cost somewhere in the $100,000 to $150,000 range.

  1. Would Tulsa Transit be willing to extend the due date of this proposal by a week or two?

No. The original proposal due dates will stand.

  1. Concerning the GPS Hardware onboard, does Tulsa Transit prefer new hardware, or would the agency prefer to leverage the existing GPS hardware and if so coud you provide the specifications for the hardware?

We would prefer to utilize the existing hardware and yes we can provide the specifications. We would need to compile a list.

  1. As far as the 50 displays, does Tulsa Transit prefer to use existing displays or procure new displays?

We will procure new displays through our procurement process.

  1. Which display provider does Tulsa Transit currently use?

  1. Is Tulsa Transit able to provide specifications on the current displays?

Yes.

  1. Are the current displays LCDs or LEDs?

LCD

  1. Does Tulsa Transit have a preference for LCD vs LED if new displays are required?

  1. If new displays are preferred, does Tulsa Transit have a preferred set of dimensions?

  1. Is Tulsa Transit interested in update rates that are faster than 15 seconds, such as 1-2 seconds?

Yes, 10 seconds.

  1. How many revenue vehicles is Tulsa Transit running at peak?

Currently Tulsa Transit runs 53 at peak, but that number will go up once we implement the BRT in 2019. That will add 6 buses to peak.

  1. Are Automated Voice Announcements for ADA compliance currently being provided with the current vendor onboard?

Yes.

  1. IF not, is Tulsa Transit interested in AVA as an option if the module fits within the projected budget?

No, AVA is provided by a third party vendor.

  1. How is the project being funded?

This project is being jointly funded with Federal Transit Administration, State of Oklahoma and City of Tulsa, OK grants.

  1. Does Tulsa currently use any sort of interior bus LEDs for visual announcements inside the vehicles?

No

  1. If not, is this something Tulsa Transit is interested in pursuing?

No

  1. Is Tulsa Transit interested in pursuing any type of on-demand software as part of the project?

Yes, as stated in the RFP.
