VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

ENGLISH TEACHER

The Oak Park School District has one (1) available English teacher position, at Oak Park Preparatory Academy, for the 2015-2016 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Possess a Bachelors or Masters Degree.

2.  Possess a standard Michigan Teaching Certificate secondary English endorsement

3.  Experience or familiarity with computer programs and other supplemental/support tools.

4.  Demonstrate ability to improve students’ academic achievement.

5.  Knowledge of standardized test taking skills and practice strategies

6.  Familiarity with the Michigan Educational Assessment Program

7.  Meets NCLB requirements as a highly qualified teacher.

8.  Demonstrate dependability, initiative, and organizational skills

DUTIES:

1. Teach the district curriculum appropriate for the subjects and grade level assigned.

2. Maintain Proper forms and records required by the District and the State.

3. Maintain proper classroom discipline.

4. Maintain communications with parents, students and staff.

5. Administer appropriate standardized tests.

6. Participate in in-service training as assigned.

7. Participate on School Committees.

8. Participate in school related activities.

9. Any other duties assigned by Principal, and/or designee.

This position is part of the Oak Park Education Association bargaining unit.
