Council notes – May 24, 2016

·  R.M. of Laurier No. 38 sent a letter to the City of Weyburn with regard to the Mutual Aid Fire Service Agreement.

·  R.M. of Laurier No. 38 provided notification that the R.M. of Laurier will challenge the Town of Radville in a bubble ball match at the Rodeo.

·  R.M. of Laurier No. 38 provided a copy of the Fire Restriction Bylaw passed by the R.M.

·  Upper Souris Watershed Association provided notice of annual general meeting and report on activities for 2015 and 2016.

·  Water Security Agency presented a revised permit to operate sewage works.

·  Weyburn Fire Department provided minutes of the meeting held May 12 with the area fire departments to discuss the mutual aid agreement.

·  Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association Golf Tournament will be held in Weyburn July 14 and 15, 2016. Information will be sent out in order for Council to register if they wish.

·  The CIBC and Radius Credit Union reconciliation’s, and Statements of Financial Activities for the period ending April 30, 2016, were accepted as presented.

·  The accounts for approval, Cheques No. 26080 to 26107, totaling $33,664.24 were approved for payment.

·  Deputy Fire Chief Ferguson attended a meeting in Weyburn with regard to the mutual aid agreement between communities.

·  Street signs have been installed on McKay Street and Conrad Avenue.

·  Council met with HJR Asphalt on May 10 to discuss paving options.

·  Fire ban lifted by the Fire Chief on May 11 for the Town of Radville, R.M. of Laurier #38, R.M. of Lake Alma #8 and Village of Lake Alma.

·  Contacted the Radville Regional High School and placed information on face book with regard to stop signs being turned in the community.

·  RCMP requested the Town place information on face book, with regard to break-ins and securing property.

·  3 loads of cold mix were ordered from ASL Paving.

·  Staff have completed responsibility for checking Water Treatment Plant in Colgate as their staff member has returned to work.

·  Loraas Disposal will provide pricing for recycling and garbage pick up.

·  Hydrants and water lines were flushed the week of May 17 to 20.

·  Received grant funding for a summer student. Interviews are being conducted for the position.

·  Met with the Water Security Agency on May 16 with regard to the lagoon expansion project.

·  Altus Geomatics will subdivide property purchased for lagoon expansion.

·  Clifton Associates will provide pricing for required reports for the lagoon expansion project.

·  Regens Disposal will be providing new recycling contract pricing.

·  Staff will be cleaning up property at 636 Crane Avenue.

·  Town Office will be closed June 1 for staff to attend an election seminar in Weyburn.

·  Third water break in line north of the water treatment plant has surfaced.

·  Bylaw No. 2016-12 being a Bylaw to Amend Zoning Bylaw No. 2011-09, was read a first time.

·  The Town of Radville approved the building permit for a garage on Lot 13, Block 7, Plan AT1370.

·  The Town of Radville approved the fence permit for Lot 21, Block 14, Plan AX1974.

·  The Town of Radville will hire HJR Asphalt to place hot mix on Healy Avenue and Hunt Street.

·  Next regular meeting of Town Council – Monday, June 13, 2016, 7:00 p.m.
