Program Committee Meeting Notes

In attendance: Jen Sassman, Pam Perry, Beth Oakes, Tim Kramer, Amy Gaffney, Katrina Bennett, Julie Ntem, Janet Rampulla, Debbie Scholz

Fall Conference Dates November 7, 8, 9
Established that Teleconference Calls would be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on the Following Thursday mornings; August 16 and 30; September 13 and 27; October 18
Pam will contact Chad to set up
Brainstormed several ideas for themes:
Football, 6 degrees of separation, USS IASFAA, River/Boat theme
USS IASFAA floated to the top.
Discussed Charity event. Amy indicated that she was interested in possibly doing some sort of service project while we were in Iowa City. Discussed various ways that the IASAA community to reach out to the Coralville/Iowa City community while we were there. Associate Members committee will continue with these plans.
Janet Rampulla volunteered to be in charge of the conference evaluations. Janet will speak to Tara Kamin to figure out who will be tallying and report the conference evaluations back to the committee.
Speakers
Jen Sassman had received some suggestions of keynote speakers from various individuals. Debbi Scholz suggested considering some local speakers from the area and or the U of Iowa before looking at speakers with larger fees. Beth Oakes will be contacting someone from the U or Iowa; Janet Rampulla will be contacting someone from Character Counts. Amy Gaffney will be contacting Bruce Foot, MASFAA federal issues chair. Jen will also look into the President exchange and see if they will be attending the fall and or spring conference and if they are willing to present.

2. Summer Awarding Policy; minimum length of time enrolled to receive aid.
