The VP for Venture Capital is the one who supposed to monitor and oversee the work of the team of venture capital managers, analysts and officers. He or she has the responsibility to oversee and review the tasks with identifying, evaluating and recommending investments in new enterprises with promising financial rewards looking forwards. It will be also the duty to work as a representative of the company in meeting with other counterparts of fledgling companies. He or she is also responsible for the approval of the investments in developing businesses around promising technological discoveries and applications.

VP-Venture Capital Management Duties and Responsibilities

There are the following duties and responsibilities of a VP-Venture Capital Management:

• The prime responsibility is to develop the minimum acceptance criteria in the evaluation of new enterprises.

• He or she has to develop for capital augmentation, stock transfers and loan for stock swaps.

• It will be the responsibility to develop the implementing guidelines in the identification, prospecting, evaluation, processing and investment procedures.

• The duty includes overseeing the work of the team of capital managers and analysts.

• He or she has the responsibility to ensure thatthe duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with approved investment standards.

• It will be the responsibility to report regularly to the executive staff about the performance of the company’s capitalization portfolio.

• He or she is responsible for conducting the meetings on strategies behind venture capital expansion and enhancement of their performance.

• He or she needs to maintain the coordination with the HR in the hiring and firing of management and staff of the department when required.

The required skills and specifications are as follows:

• The person needs to have the excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

• He or she should have the excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills to do the job.

• He or she should have the qualities of being a good leader.

VP-Venture Capital Management and Qualification

The basic degree required for the job is a college degree in finance or business administration.

• The person needs to have a bachelor’s degree in MBM, MBA or masters degree in the management sciences.

• He or she should have required past working experience of at least 15 to 18 years in the financial department of a large company or bank with the last 5 years in venture capital administration.

The salary of basically depends upon the value of its loan portfolio and exposures, nature of the business, value of investments being managed, state, and especially the holder‘s qualification
