Tom developed a genetic eye condition eight years ago, leaving him with 5% vision, first noticing some sight loss at the Edinburgh Fringe, when fellow performers on stage became blurry. His sight quickly deteriorated and mostly went within months: he is turning his comic eye to blindness for the first time.
This is Tom’s third solo show after 2015’s Foollball, the history of the greatest football club that never existed, and last year’s dystopian Orwellian satire2061. Tomhas appeared in sketch and improv with The Story Pirates and Adventure Incorporated, and he wrote, directed and starred in the five-star comedyFreshwoman. He runs London’s popular monthly comedy night Tuesday Chucklesat Aces & Eights in Tufnell Park.He has worked on videos and workshops with the award-winning History Bombs. His improv skills developed early as he helmed the prolific The Oxford Imps at university and went on to star in The Holiday After Tomorrow, a new impromptu radio sitcom alongside some of the starsof the UK improv scene, and Fringe smashAdventures of the Improvised Sherlock Holmes. Tom is a founder member of Edinburgh sell-out successes Racing Minds, one of the Fringe’s flagship improv shows, and whose ever-popularThe Wireless Podcast now boasts over 600,000 followers on SoundCloudm and has since been developed into an original Audible series. They were twice nominated for the Perth Fringe World Comedy Award.
