SFY 2015 audit confirmation reports for payments made to Counties, Local Management Entities (LMEs), Boards of Education, Councils of Government, District Health Departments and NC DHHS/Division of Health Service Regulation Grant Subrecipients will be available by mid September at the following web address: http://www.ncdhhs.gov/control/auditconfirms.htm. Additionally, audit confirmation reports for Nongovernmental entities receiving financial assistance from the NC DHHS are found at the same website except select “Non-Governmental Audit Confirmation Reports (State Fiscal Years 2013-2015)”.

Brief Description of Program:

To provide grants to support food banks, the legislature appropriated the sum of $3,021,819 non-recurring State dollars with a 10% provider match for Fiscal Year 2014-2015. State funds were appropriated to the Department of Health and Human Services by the N. C. General Assembly in Session Law 2014-100 Conference Report on the Continuation, Capital and Expansion Budgets in order to make grants available to qualifying governmental and nongovernmental entities. Grants are designated for the following:

(1)  Food Bank of the Albemarle Inc.: $498,650

(2)  Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina: $498,650

(3)  MANNA Food Bank, Inc.: $498,650

(4)  Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina: $498,650

(5)  Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina: $498,650

(6)  Cumberland Community Action Program, Inc. for Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina: $$498,650

(7)  North Carolina Association of Feeding America Food Banks: $29,919

Funds are to be used for the purchase of nutritious staple food items not received in sufficient quantities and for the distribution and transportation of the food purchased. Not more than 25% of these funds can be used to offset expenses involved with transportation, warehousing and distribution activities required for the purchased products.
