Supplier Portal - Internet Explorer Version 6/7/8/9/10
Browser Settings
When working with the HP Supplier Portal, it is crucial that you have the following browser settings applied to your Internet Explorer. Otherwise the portal won't work properly.
Feb 2014: IE versions 8,9,10 have all been verified to work with Supplier Portal. Pictures below are from an earlier version of IE, but appear similar in later versions.
Short summary:
· *hp.com is a trusted site, where trusted sites are LOW security.
· Compatibility setting for *hp.com
· Pop-up blocker and smart-screen filter set to OFF.
· JavaScript error in bottom left fix: reset IE to default settings.
Please check the following settings:
1. In Internet Explorer, choose Tools ® Internet Options.
2. In the General tab:
a. In the Temporary Internet Files frame, click Settings (v9/10/11 this is located in a ‘Browsing history’ section of the General tab)
b.
c. For the parameter Check for newer versions of stored pages, select “Every visit to the page”. Then click OK.
3. In the Security tab of the Internet Options dialog box, select the Trusted sites icon (green circle, white check mark):
a. Click the Sites button.
b. Add https://*hp.com as a trusted site. Click Add, and then click OK.
4. Still in Trusted sites, verify that settings are set to LOW for trusted sites:
5. Verify pop-up blocker is ‘OFF’ in Privacy tab:
6. Save your settings and close the Internet Options dialog box by clicking OK.
7. Verify smart-screen filter is off: Tools > SmartScreen Filter>
a. You should see an option to ‘Turn on SmartScreen Filter…” (DO NOT click this).
8. Verify *.hp.com is set in compatibility view:

9. Close all IE windows (for changes to take effect).
Common issue, with Javascript error:
a) “Yellow triangle” in bottom left of IE, causes many links/pages not to work. Double clicking it shows this error:

c) You likely have to reset your IE (this will remove/reset a lot of things, but it won’t remove your certificates, trusted sites)

e) After that’s done, re-verify:
a. Smart-screen filter OFF
b. Pop-up blocker OFF.
c. *Hp.com is a trusted site.
d. Trusted sites is LOW security.
e. Compatibility settings for *hp.com
