RACE 1 – Furniture City Juvenile (1) 515M

Pioneer Mogul, Classic Nikko and Kirkby Lodge were slow out. Soon after the start Renewable Energy, Gemstone Jack, Petrie, Heliski and Blue McCool bumped, checking Petrie and Gemstone Jack. At the same time Pioneer Mogul, Classic Nikko and Kirkby Lodge bumped. On the first turn Heliski, Blue McCool, Gemstone Jack, Pioneer Mogul, Classic Nikko and Kirkby Lodge bumped, severely checking Gemstone Jack, Pioneer Mogul and checking Classic Nikko. Approaching the second turn Heliski and Blue McCool bumped. On the third turn Kirkby Lodge galloped on the heels of Renewable Energy, checking both greyhounds. Approaching the home turn Renewable Energy, Blue McCool, Petrie and Kirkby Lodge bumped, severely checking Kirkby Lodge and Renewable Energy. On the home turn Classic Nikko crossed wide and marred the running of Renewable Energy resulting in Kirkby Lodge being checked, shortly after Gemstone Jack crossed wide and bumped with Kirkby Lodge, checking both greyhounds. Gemstone Jack underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr P Hili in relation in to the race manner of Gemstone Jack on the home turn. Acting under their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Hili, stewards were of the opinion that Gemstone Jack had turned its head outwards towards Kirkby Lodge and bumped heavily with that greyhound however stewards were unable to ascertain whether any head or muzzle contact wasmade but in doing so stewards were of the opinion that Gemstone Jack had failed to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event pursuant to GAR 69(1)(b). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a) Gemstone Jack has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, Launceston only, and until the completion of a satisfactory trial. Pioneer Mogul underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Classic Nikko underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have soreness to the right shoulder. Classic Nikko has been stood down from racing for a period of 7 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr P Hili in relation to the race manner of Classic Nikko on the home turn. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Hili, stewards were of the opinion that Classic Nikko had turned its head outwards and marred the running of Renewable Energy on the home turn pursuant to GAR 69(1)(a). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a) Classic Nikko has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, Launceston only, and until the completion of a satisfactory trial. Kirkby Lodge underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Renewable Energy underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.

Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Stocks, stewards were of the opinion that Disney Bound had turned its head outwards towards Open Bar but did not make head or muzzle contact however in doing so had failed to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event pursuant to GAR 69(1)(b). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a) Disney Bound has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, Launceston Only, and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Ukulele Rocker underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated toe and split webbing to the left hind foot.
