In car cameras at the cost of $5,115.00 each totaling $40,920.00 for the purchase of eight, will be utilized for video surveillance of traffic stops for the use and protection of our deputies and community. These cameras will be instrumental in identifying and solving traffic issues.

Desktop computers are a necessity to access and interact with information for criminal investigations, do report writing and train. The purchase of eleven computers at $1600.00 each will total $17,600.00.

As communications are vital to keep in touch with co-workers and dispatch, the purchase of a new repeater at the cost of $21,000.00 will help to keep our radio waves up and running in the event of a temporary downfall with the main system.

SWAT Uniforms ($3,520.00), caps ($440.00), Name patches ($704.00) and Chest patches ($440.00) are necessary for the identification of a specific unit that utilizes special tactics for the protection and safety of our community. The use of a Ballistic Shields ($4,582.00) and Shin Guards ($1,542.00) to stop bullet penetration is a must for our team that will be trained to return fire with the moving target ($3,952.00).

Computer stands ($10,065.00) will assist our deputies in keeping their laptops in a secured position when placed inside the vehicles during patrol hours.

The server software ($9,113.00) and two separate servers ($11,148.00 & $17,760.00) will be used to set up for our own intranet and Internet system to be utilized for the communications of our office. The processor ($36,094.00) will be used for the running of this system and the firewall/ipswitch ($5,280.00) for the protections of the entire unit and system.

The T.A.P.E.S.T.R.Y. Program will calculate to the amount of $184,160.00 that will be well spent to the value of training, communication, and an overall betterment to the entire parish of Terrebonne and its Sheriff’s Office.
