SPECIFICATION GUIDE

Profiles

·  Aluminium folding door system with thermally broken frame and thermally broken 70mm thick door panels.

·  According to EN-BS 6375-1 the door set must achieve a U value = X.X W/m².k using glass type XX.

·  Air permeability Class 2 according to EN 1026, with water permeability to Class 7A EN 1027 and wind loads Class A3 according to EN 12211 must be achieved.

·  The panel profiles are square cut and joined with screw and bolt fixed connection blocks.

·  Panels should overlap with triple sealed joints.

·  Bottom track can be either:-

o  Double rebated to achieve above weather performance.

o  Single rebated for low profile sill for internal applications or where lower weather resistance can be tolerated.

·  The running guide track should be covered by rubber seal or aluminium cover so running gear is not visible.

Hardware

·  All running mechanisms should be concealed in the profiles

·  Fittings must incorporate sealed bearings and stainless steel washers and be corrosion resistant in accordance with EN 1670.

·  Hardware must be laterally and vertically adjustable to allow for reasonable building settlement.

·  All externally viewed hardware should have irremovable pins.

·  Floor mounted running gear should have flat, low noise, angled wheel which run on angled tracks, tested to exceed 25,000 actions in accordance with EN13126–1 2006.

Sealing

·  Double rebated frames with double seals are required for weather resistant performance. Triple inter-panel sealing incorporating high acoustic performing foam and TPE seals.

Glazing

·  Glass must be positioned in panels with interior and exterior rubber seals.

·  Simplified pane replacement should be available at a later date.

·  Double and triple glazing should be available/optional.

Locking Devices

·  Where there is an access panel this should be secured by a 3 lateral bolt lock to EN 14351–1 2006 with high security locking cylinder to BS EN1303

·  Inter-panel locks should provide upper and lower steel rod movement of 25mm. Lockable version may be specified.

·  A 5 pin key cylinder (internal only) should always be used when lockable device is specified.

·  A non-lockable version to be used to provide free emergency exit.

Accessories

·  Doors must be secured by magnetic catches when open to prevent damage.

Warranty

·  Doors and hardware should be warranted to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from purchase date.
