POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title Chapter Development Manager, Victoria
Location Melbourne, VIC
Reporting to Chief Executive Officer
Salary 22 hours per week, salary to be negotiated based on experience
Position Mandate
Working with the AILA CEO and VIC AILA Executive, the NSW Chapter Development Manager is charged with growing membership, sponsorship, engagement and profile within VIC to the benefit of Landscape Architecture. The Chapter Development Manager is charged with leading the chapter through the delivery of its Strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
o Lead the strategic plan implementation in Victoria
o Develop and formalise an annual VIC Strategic and operational plan
o Execute activities as identified in the local plan
o To engage with the local executive and committees proactively to support the local activities. This will be measured through satisfaction surveys of executive and committees.
o Manage Victorian operational budget
o Develop and deliver an annual budget that meets the National Council and Victorian Executive parameters and includes a minimum 7% profit margin
o Drive membership growth
o KPI – Deliver a 5% growth in AILA membership annually
o Manage member communications
o Develop and deliver relevant and timely membership communications
o Build media contacts and implement media plan
o Develop a current media list, and regularly pitch story ideas to this list
o Issue a minimum of 10 press releases annually, and follow up on these
o Secure a minimum of 5 articles in mainstream media profiling the profession
o Develop and execute a local social media campaign to raise the profile, voice and connections of the profession
o Build key state contacts, government, business, University and kindred industry
o Hold meetings with each relevant State Minister/advisor annually
o Hold meetings with each University program annually
o Hold meetings and build opportunities for collaboration with key Industry associations
o Secure and manage local corporate partners
§ KPI – to achieve $100,000 in annual sponsorship to support local activities.
§ KPI – develop and implement a long term strategic sponsorship plan
o Staff Management
To oversee the Advocacy Manager and Administration assistant in the delivery of their relevant roles.
§ KPI – Implement performance review program
§ KPI – Staff portfolios are delivered & KPI’s are met.
Position Requirements
1. Minimum Education Requirement
A tertiary qualification in public relations or marketing or communications or a related field, is highly desirable but not essential.
2. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities critical to the performance of the position
· Sponsorship seeking and delivery
· Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Knowledge or understanding of and prior history with the design and development industry
· Well-developed communication skills – verbal and written.
· Excellent project management skills
· Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
· Sound organisational and administrative skills
· Excellent attention to detail
