Roger J. Gerrits Family Scholarship

Are you interested in agricultural science? Do you have plans to pursue a degree in plant science, horticulture, animal breeding or nutrition, veterinary science, soil science, food science, or agricultural marketing and management? The family of Dr. RogerGerrits would like to help you reach your goal through the Roger J. Gerrits Family Scholarship.

RogerGerritsis a 1949 graduateof Wrightstown High School. Following his graduation, Roger received a scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Short Course. This scholarship was the beginning step toward an impressive career in the agricultural field for Roger. He is a strong advocate for agriculture and in 2011 was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Pork Producers. Gerrits is only the third non-farmer admitted to the Hall of Fame.

In Dr. Gerrits’ words, “Every journey starts with a first step. Maybe this scholarship can be part of the first step for a WHS student.”

Qualifications

  • Graduating Senior from Wrightstown High School
  • Plans to Attend a College or Technical College
  • GPA of 3.0 or Above
  • Pursuing a Degree in agriculture or an agriculture-related field

Application

Application Timelines

  • Winner Notified at Wrightstown High School Scholarship Ceremony
  • Tuition Payment Made to School Designated by Award Winner Following Successful Completion of First Semester
