Executive Summary of Position: / To manage the Port Kembla Centre by effectively implementing a range of services within a community development framework, and administering community access to the BaptistCare Centre by:
§ Managing the operation of The Centre, its staff and volunteers, co-ordinating and managing all work as part of a team, offering acceptance and fostering opportunities for positive life changes and harm minimization for the target client group of the Centre.
§ Ensuring that a safe space is provided for the marginalized community in Port Kembla.
Ensuring that all service users are treated with respect, equality and dignity are properly cared for, and all requests for assistance/referral are dealt with professionally and appropriately within our available resources.

Person Specification:
Essential qualifications & experience
· Relevant university qualifications in the area of social science, community welfare or health
· Demonstrated commitment to social justice and experience in casework and community development
· Demonstrated experience / knowledge of alcohol and other drugs and Mental Health issues

· Demonstrated ability to work with identified target groups with respect, dignity and equality
· Demonstrated Christian identity and ability to articulate beliefs, including the leading of devotions and prayers
· Demonstrated experience in policy development
· High level of negotiation skills and ability to liaise with key stakeholders

Major Functional Responsibilities:
e.g. Care Service Delivery / Meets divisional and organisational objectives by:
§ Actively managing and contributing to quality service provision by developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing program content to ensure service provision reflects service best practice standards and organisational policies and procedures
§ Maintaining, interpreting and reporting outcomes and statistics on service users as a means of accountability
§ Generating and managing the budget for the Centre
§ Managing and performing all administrative tasks to work within BaptistCare financial framework. (E.g. petty cash, cheque requisitions etc.)
§ Managing and performing all administrative tasks and meet KPI’s to work within compliance of grants and funding received
§ Planning for and Managing capital works, maintenance, and Centre security
§ Attending and contributing to Divisional Leadership Group events as per schedule
§ Identifying private and public funding sources and assisting in the submission of the funding applications to develop and sustain the services at Port Kembla.
§ Managing staff, volunteer, customer and stakeholder relationships effectively.
§ Demonstrating and facilitating problem solving and conflict resolution skills for the staff, volunteers and customers

§ Reporting on project performance and ensure compliance with all funding agreements.
§ Reviewing and implementing policies and procedures pertaining to Centre operations
§ Addressing client/customer complaints according to BaptistCare policies and procedures to ensure any grievances are addressed appropriately and resolved satisfactorily
§ Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards and legal requirements for the programme’s operation and service delivery
