Classroom Procedures
¨ Please take care of personal business before class (restroom, locker, etc.)
¨ Sharpen pencils during the first 5 minutes of class or during
independent work time; not when the teacher is giving instruction.
¨ Be seated and ready to begin class by the bell.
¨ When entering the classroom:
o Pick up materials
o Drop off homework
o Do the drill
¨ Raise your hand and wait patiently to be called on when asking or answering a question.
¨ When you see my hand raised:
o Raise your hand
o Close your mouth
o See that your neighbor is following the procedure (if not, quietly motion to them)
o Wait for instruction
¨ When entering the classroom late:
o Enter the classroom quietly
o Hand pass to the teacher
o Pick up new materials
o Join in with the rest of the class
o Place homework in appropriate class period in-box prior to leaving class
¨ When taking a test:
o Only pencils, formula sheet and a calculator, if permitted, may be on your desk
o Books and other materials should be closed and placed under your seat
o Wait for any additional test instructions and signal to begin test
o Keep your eyes on your own work
o Please remain seated until completely finished with the test
o If you have a question, raise your hand and wait patiently for the teacher to come to you
o When finished, place test in homework box and remain quiet for the remainder of the class period (You may read, do extra credit, or work on other classwork.)
¨ When doing homework:
o Please write your name and date on the first line and the entire assignment on the second line
o Clearly number each problem and circle answers
¨ When absent from class:
o Place old homework in the appropriate class period in-box
o Pick up missed materials from the folders in the milk crate
o Copy any missed notes from a classmate
o Complete the missed homework and place it in the in-box by next class
¨ The teacher will dismiss class when the classroom is organized and all students are quiet and seated.
