JOB PURPOSE / The posts will involve a range of activities that will include the development of course specific demonstrations and managing projects; providing technical and academic support for undergraduate modules as well as assisting in running course related events, for example: game jams, Innovation Fest, conferences, open days and applicant visit days.
SCOPE / Develop relevant discipline specific technical demonstrations for open and applicant days and other University events.
Provide academic and technical support for undergraduate modules.
Develop supporting documentation for computer and technical systems.
Report problems outside simple maintenance to the course team and facilitate internal or external support calls.
Support the booking of software and equipment for research and project students.
Maintain tidy and organised laboratories at all time.
Support users, organised events, extracurricular activities and assist with project administration and management.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / Work with members of staff as directed and delegated by the Head of School.
Support Programme Leaders and contribute to course development and management.
Be cognisant of BCU health and safety requirements; and equality and diversity policies in relation to other staff and students.
PLANNING AND ORGANISING / In conjunction with the academic lead or designated supervisor plan, prepare and deliver appropriate academic or technical support.
Contribute to the planning and organisation of events held by the School, such as Applicant Visit and Open Days as well as other University events.
Where appropriate, initiate scholarly events.
DECISION MAKING
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS / Work collaboratively with all staff of the School in developing the research, teaching, learning and professional portfolios of the School.

Good overall grades in undergraduate course.
Demonstration of high level discipline specific technical skills.

Skills/abilities:
Subject knowledge and expertise in a relevant area.
An ability to work constructively in academic teams, but also to use personal initiative and to be flexible and creative.
Oral, IT and writing skills necessary to undertake effective support of module delivery.
