Job Posting: Executive Director, Community Education Project, Holyoke, MA

Under the general supervision of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director holds primary responsibility for strategic leadership, fiscal management, and operational administration for the development and functioning of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • build and maintain strategic, collaborative community partnerships
  • develop CEP’s Adult Basic Education curriculum and align it with the program standards and learning outcomes of the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Transition to College and Careers (TCC) program of Holyoke Community College.

Fiscal Management

  • manage an agency budget consisting of multiple grant funding streams
  • develop new funding sources via donor cultivation and grant writing.

Operational Administration

  • hire, train, supervise and evaluate all staff members.
  • schedule programming and allocate staff, resources and supplies to achieve goals.
  • administer all personnel matters and benefits management according to CEP Human Resources Policies and Personnel Guidelines.
  • oversee timely, accurate data entry for tracking and reporting of outcomes to funders

Required Qualifications:

  • a Master’s degree with three years professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of concrete, demonstrable experience in progressively responsible management positions.
  • excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • outstanding interpersonal and team management skills.
  • experience working with a diverse staff and student population
  • ability to work with a Board of Directors and cultivate new board members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • bilingual English/Spanish fluency in written and oral language.
  • record of Adult Basic Education teaching and/or ABE program management.
  • knowledge of MA DESE curriculum standards and learning outcomes.
  • experience in building and maintaining collaborations with strategic community partners.
  • familiarity with the Adult Basic Education and Workforce Development partners of Holyoke.
