Thanks Badge and Thanks Badge II – The Thanks Badge recognizes an adult whose outstanding service benefits the total Council or the entire Girl Scout Organization and has performed so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.
Thanks Badge and Thanks Badge II Criteria
- Nominee must have previously received the Spirit of Excellence Award.
- For the Thanks Badge II, nominee must have previously been awarded the Thanks Badge.
- Nominee is an adult Girl Scout serving in a volunteer role whose tasks supports other adult volunteers across more than one membership area:
- Volunteer roles include but not limited to: Council Trainers, Leadership Mentors, Learning Channel Authors, Adult Retreat Committee, Annual Meeting Committee, Kickoff Committee, Gold Award Members, Outdoor Skills Adventure Members, Board Members and Historic Preservation Members.
- If a Service Unit or Day/Twilight Camp Volunteer in a “core position” has mentored, trained or supported other adults outside their designated service area, they may be eligible for this award.
- Nominee must have completed appropriate adult education for the role or have demonstrated competence which is documented in the nominations.
- Four unique nominations are required from adults who are not family members of the nominee.
- If the nominee is a staff member their supervisor must sign off on the nomination.
