Hood River Hops Festis Bigger Than Ever

50 local and regional breweries will be pouringmore than 75 fresh-hop brews on Saturday, September 24–

Hood River, Ore.(August 31, 2016)–Hood River Hops Fest, the Pacific Northwest’s largest fresh-hop beer festival with more than 75 brews on tap, this week announced the full line-up ofparticipating breweries. 50local and regional breweries – the most breweries ever to be featured at Hood River Hops Fest –will be pouring samples of seasonal and fresh-hop beers.

Several breweries are making their first appearance at the 2016 Hood River Hops Fest, including 54°40' Brewing Company, Calapooia Brewing Company, Coin Toss Brewing Co., Freebridge Brewing, Payette Brewing and Zoiglhaus Brewing Company. Exciting brews to make an appearance at the festival include the return of Double Mountain Brewery’s Killer Red and Killer Green, and pFriem Family Brewers’ Fresh Hop Mosaic Pale Ale.A small selection of local hop ciders will also be on tap, along with select wines from Naked Winery.

New for 2016 is the Hood River Hops Fest Awards, which include a People’s Choice and Top of the Hops awards. The Oregon Beer Awards’ new Fresh Hop category will also be judged during the event, with festival and non-festival beers alike vying for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, to be presented at the Oregon Beer Award ceremony in Portland on February 28, 2017.

Held in the heart of picturesque downtown Hood River, this year’s festival is Saturday, September 24, 2016, from noon to 8 p.m.

In addition to fresh-hops beer and cider, Hood River Hops Fest features local cuisine, arts and crafts vendors, live music, and a children’s play area, which is open until 5 p.m. Children are welcome throughout the afternoon. The venue is open to adults only from 5 p.m.until 8 p.m.

This year’s headline act is the Seattle funk band Polyrhythmics – a high-energy eight-piece group featuring the trumpet, sax, trombone, flute, drums, bass, keys and vocals.

  • 21+ Beer Garden Ticket: $15 presale; $20 day-of. Includes entry, commemorative glass mug and five 3.5 oz. taste tokens
  • Under 21: Free admission. Note: The venue is open to adults only from 5 pm until closing at 8 p.m.
