Internship Job Description

Position Title: Project Manager

Department: Program Management Office

Hiring Manager: Robyn Wilson (intern will be directly supervised by Robyn Wilson, but may support the PMO team)

My intern will be sitting in cube: ___TBD___ (to be approved by Rich Pina)

Length of internship: June 4th through scheduled return to school

(Program will begin on June 4th & usually ends whenever a student is scheduled to return to school – but can be based on projects and/or budget)

Status: × Full Time (40 hours/week)  Part-time (min 24 hours/week)

Type: × Undergraduate  Graduate

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour (Undergrad $15/hour Graduate $25/hour)

Summary Statement:

Briefly introduce your department, its initiatives and the goal(s) of the intern’s position.

The sponsoring department is the Program Management Office (PMO). The PMO oversees the software development lifecycle for medium and large IT projects. The primary objective of the PMO is to management projects with leadership to protect CHI’s IT investments by mitigating risks and delivering projects on schedule and budget.

An intern’s primary focus to support the PMO’s 2013 objectives will be to assist in creating process improvements and updating documentation to support adherence to audit and PMO guidelines of best practices in managing projects. The intern will support the PMO Director and potentially Senior Program Managers with their highly visible IT portfolio and program management, i.e. SOA, Data Center Migration, CH.com Redesign, respectively.

Responsibilities:

List and/or summarize the intern’s responsibilities pertaining to the department and/or projects.

·  Create and update documentation of processes supporting the PMO Accountability Plan

·  Manage the monthly PMO Kick-off meeting

·  Assist in creating librarian processes to ensure adherence of audit controls and other PMO guidelines

·  Help the Clarity Admin roll out new reports and processes to the PMO

·  Assist in the management of the SOA program

·  Support PMO with project tasks management and artifacts

Requirements:
