Review and JCR approval of the Ethics Code (attached – aka the Honour Code Mk2)

Elections for the following semi-elected positions: Food and wine,

Charities rep, LGBT rep, Christmas reps (x2), OUSU rep, OUSU voter

6. Committee motions

i.  This JCR would purchase a new TV and Freeview HD box for c.£500-600.

ii.  This JCR would request a document from college outlining the proposed redevelopment of the library and relocation of the JCR, including a proposed timeframe.

iii.  This JCR believes that the freshers need an incentive to come to JCR meetings. As such, This JCR proposes to change the room ballot order to be more sympathetic to finalists.

7. Constitutional motions

i.  ThisJCR would amend the election process of the Male and Female Welfare Reps. As before, Welfare reps would be elected in Hilary, peer support trained in Trinity, and take office in Michaelmas. However, in addition to requiring their Tutor’s signature to run, prospective candidates must also acquire the signature of the Welfare Dean following a vetting process similar to that for peer supporters. ii.  This JCR would add a clause into section M of the constitution (conduct of JCR Open Meetings) to read as follows:

“The Chair of a JCR Meeting has the power to deny a motion if it incites illegal activity, goes against college impartiality, harassment, and Equal Opportunities policy, or if it is offensive to any person or group of persons. If the majority of the JCR continue to support the motion then the matter will be taken to JCC, which will make the final decision.” [Second reading]

iii.  This JCR would move the election of the IT rep to Hilary term

iv.  This JCR would remove clause R3 from the constitution as it is no longer applicable

8. General motions

i.  This JCR understands that the Decanal system is being considered for review by college. As such, the JCR would like to express its confidence in the system as it stood at the beginning of this academic year.
