A Night of Theatre: Glenwood Style!
HVA 600 and The Island Never Discovered Tickets
Tickets are available for the class items HVA 600 and The Island Never Discovered.
HVA 600 is 45G’s interpretation of Henry V by William Shakespeare. October 25, 2015 is the 600th anniversary of the battle of Agincourt, which is the climax of the play. We will be performing it on the anniversary – to the minute! 45G has been rehearsing this play throughout the year and has also turned it into a short film that was screened in front of packed audience at the Cross Network Performing Arts Concert. It is an exciting production that features live drama, digital imagery, original music created by the class in GarageBand and creative special effects.
The Island Never Discovered is a playbuilt drama by Year 6 exploring the themes of bully and understanding. It is a highly theatrical piece that has come together thanks to the creativity and enthusiasm of the cast. I am delighted with their ideas and their tremendous commitment. You will witness a real ensemble in action, a sincere exploration of issues that have been treated both insightfully as well as creatively. This is a fitting climax to the work of this particular grade: I have worked with them in Drama since Year 1 and from The Three Little Bops and Detention Underground through to The Island Never Discovered. I can honestly say we have never had a more creative group of students!
This is a free performance, with quite modest sets and props. The “tickets” are just so that we can keep track of how many are coming! We can comfortably seat about 150 people in the hall. There is no seat-booking so please return your request early. Seats are not allocated on the day either so first come, best dressed, so to speak.
Please return the slip below to Mr Gough.
Thanks,
