TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL START-UP

Your new water conditioning equipment will be fully programmed by the service technicians during installation. There should be no further need for you to adjust any settings unless you have a permanent change in the number of household members or your inlet water quality noticeably changes.

SOFTENER/CONDITIONER

1.  Flush all the hard water from your hot water heater by fully opening the hot water valve at one or more bathtub fixtures until the water runs cool (approximately five minutes). This will ensure you have completely replaced all the hard water with soft water, so you can experience the luxury of soft water for your next shower.

2.  Flush your cold water piping by fully opening the cold-water valve of the fixture located at the furthest location from where your water enters the house, (approximately 2 minutes).

3.  Check the salt tank regularly (weekly or biweekly) and add one or two 40-lb. bags of salt to maintain a level between ¼ and 2/3-tank level. Avoid filling the salt tank over 2/3 full to prevent formation of a salt “bridge”.

REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM

  1. After installation allow the storage tank to fill completely for approximately two to three hours. It is full when you no longer hear water running through the system.
  2. Drain the storage tank by locking the RO faucet fixture in the OPEN position until the water stops flowing. When no more water runs out of the faucet close the RO faucet fixture and allow the tank to refill.
  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 a second time. These simple measures will completely wet the membrane, remove any entrapped air and flush the filters, tank and tubing to give you a virtual unlimited supply of clean, crisp, purified water for all your drinking needs.
  4. Once a month completely drain your RO storage tank to keep the RO membrane operating at peak performance.
