Chapter 6150 – classification, pay, uniforms
6151.04 - Responsibility.
Classification authority for General Schedule positions through GS-11, and all Federal Wage System positions, can be delegated to specific individuals on National Forests. 1. GS-7 and above clerical and administrative positions classifiable in Series 301, 303, 318, or 1101 (GS-318-7 level positions must be classified by the Regional Office).
2. Positions that classify above or below grade levels covered by published standards, are controversial or establish a precedent.
3. Positions in new or emerging programs.
Any doubt as to the status of a proposed position should be referred to the Regional Office Classification and Pay Administration Group.
