Bob Glushko called the meeting to order at 11:05 EST. It was clear that too few people were on the call for any of the scheduled work (review of Rev 16) to get done, so instead we had an informal discussion about how to pick up the pace of work when the TC and subcommittees get back to work in the new year.

An open action item from the last meeting was for the Samuelson Clinic to provide a set of use cases to Brian LaMacchia that generally track the rights that individuals have in the use of their personal property, even when that personal property happens to be a copy of a copyrighted work. Aaron Burstein reported that these were sent on December 10, that Brian had acknowledged receiving them, but that substantive discussion had not yet begun.

Bob Glushko reported that on Monday December 16 he had discussed with Hari Reddy the need to accelerate the schedule of the TC. Bob thought it inappropriate in Hari's absence to report in detail, but did mention one idea –to restart the efforts on profiles and conformance as a way to make progress on the ultimate deliverables of the TC even though the requirements are not yet finalized. John Erickson thought this was a good idea, and others reminded the subcommittee that Bob DuCharme's proposal for a "basic user rights" profile had been well-received in September. Such a profile would encode the recent work in the Requirements on "expressiveness" concerns for end users and provide important guidance to implementers of the specification.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 AM.

Happy Holidays!
