Role Purpose:

The UI Designer will work within an Agile development team liaising with management teams, front end developers, and the development team lead to provide continuous improvements to the interface for our core software products.

The UI designer will be responsible for developing high fidelity prototypes and proving concepts as well as adding value to existing product experiences. The successful candidate will be ensuring their work complies with the latest standards and meets with desktop and mobile requirements, offering exquisite user experiences. The candidate will have the ability to balance business objectives to deliver feature rich digital products with elegant and intuitive user experiences.

The role will be based out of the Sycous Leeds office with the occasional requirement to travel nationwide to attend and support at client meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating user journeys/ user flows/ story boards/ use cases
  • Understand and contribute to detailed technical specifications whilst being sympathetic to business feature rich requirements alongside pleasant user experience
  • Work with front end developers to effectively and efficiently deliver projects on time
  • Defining and measuring user habits and interaction with digital products
  • Produces wireframes of existing and new products, offering suggestions on improvements and providing proposals and in turn change requests.
  • Prototype and test multiple iterations of designs
  • Lead focus groups and understand our users across multiple products
  • Manage more than one project at a time
  • Conduct user research exercises, utilising both quantitative and qualitive methods
  • Conduct user testing for signoff
  • Use A/B user testing to verify best options for production developments
  • Provide advice and suggestions on features which could be included by the development team to compliment current user experiences.
  • Adhere UAT processes and offer suggestions for improvements to processes
  • Communicate and work with stakeholders of all levels
  • Produces thought out and thorough documentation to support all work, usually in the form of a specification
  • Present ideas and proposals to management teams and development teams
  • Assist with and contribute to offering accurate time scales for projects

Reporting office:Leeds

Based: Leeds but will be required to travel across the UK and internationally, with overnight stays required.

Remuneration:

The UI Designer will start on a salary of £XXXXXX per annum which will be reviewed on a regular basis and upon the completion of milestones.
