Reports relating to the General meeting of the Parish Council of Moulton held on 4th August2015

Clerks Report

1. Request sent to the agent for the old Gardman site in relation to the overgrown access off East Cobgatehas now been dealt with.

2. Ward budget money totalling £600 has been received from our three District Councillors for the purchase of a defibrillator for Moulton Chapel. Letters of thanks have been sent.

3. The defibrillator and cabinet have been ordered and received for Moulton Chapel & a letter sent to the landlord of the Jolly Farmer public house seeking his agreement to site the defibrillator on the wall of his premises and cover the ongoing cost of the electricity to the cabinet. Mr Tickner has confirmed his agreement via Cllr Lockie. The electrician will be carrying out relevant works to connect the device within the next week.

4. The silk painting workshop arranged by Transported Arts in conjunction with the mobile library is planning to create a banner reflecting the history and identity of the village and hopes to incorporate residents’ stories and thoughts about the village.

5. Response received from SHDC regarding the planning portal has been circulated to all Councillors. There are to be no immediate changes to the system at present.

6. Stephen Williams is planning football coaching at the playing field in Moulton Seas End on Friday 28th August from 12 noon for all boys between 15 – 17 years of age and has invited Kieran Dyer former Newcastle United & England player to attend to watch the players. Posters have been displayed on all parish notice boards.

7. Letters have been sent to all allotment tenants following the inspection and some work has been carried out on the land. Chase up contact has been made with tenants and the allotments will continue to be monitored.

8. The new flag pole is now in situ alongside the war memorial in Moulton Seas End thanks to John Heron who was successful in attaining a grant from Chosen & John Gilman who has given his labour free.

9. The Moulton Chapel defibrillator & cabinet along with the new flag pole have been added onto the Insurance policy.

10. A donation of £110 towards the defibrillator fund has been received from Moulton Chapel Youth Club. A letter of thanks has been sent.

Cemetery & Churchyard Report

1. Request for Burial of Ashes of Ian Geoffrey Lewis on Wednesday 15th July.

2. Request for Burial of Ashes of Eric Thomas Pritchard on Thursday 23rd July.

3. Application for new memorial for Joyce & Montague Marsh.

4. Angela Fisher from St James Church in Moulton Chapel has requested the hedge be cut in anticipation of a concert on 14th August. Bob & Terry Marriott have confirmed that this has been cut.

5. Request for Burial of David Reginald Cundy on Monday 3rd August.

6. Request for Burial of Ashes of Hugh Smillie on Saturday 8th August.

7. Request for memorial for Paul David Clegg.

8. Request for additional inscription for Iris Eva Hase.

Police Report

1. A response to our letter regarding Community Policing has been received from Neil Rhodes, Chief Constable for Lincolnshire Police and a member of the policing team will attend parish council meetings where shifts and demands allow.

Highways Report

1.LCC Highways Summer Edition Newsletter is available to members.

2. Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership have confirmed that a request has been sent to Highways for the examination of the ground socket sites for the Speed Indicator Device (SID). Once this has been agreed and confirmation received a further request for fitting will be sent to Highways and will be carried out by Highways maintenance when in the area.
