During the week of March 8, 2013 through March 14, 2013, the Preston County Sheriff’s Department handled 89 general calls for service; 25 concealed weapon applications, 4 traffic accident investigations, 3 domestic violence calls, 5 fraud investigation, served 2 family protective orders, 3 animal complaints, 4 larceny complaint, 2 controlled substance complaints, 18 traffic citations were issued, 6 individuals were arrested and 5 inmates were transported to the regional jail.

CASE # 13-0945 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY On Friday, March 15, 2013, Cpl Bryan received a call from a resident of Richview Apartments, outside of Kingwood, in regards to a destruction of property complaint. The victim’s tire had been slashed while parked in the parking lot. Any witnesses are asked to contact Cpl Bryan.

CASE # 13-0954 BURGLARY On Saturday, March 16, 2013, Cpl Mitter responded to a residence on Coal Lick Road, near Albright, in regards to a burglary complaint. The victim had an air compressor stolen from their residence. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 13-0956 LARCENY On Saturday, March 16, 2013, DFC Mitter received a call from a resident of Ken Snyder Road, near Tunnelton, in regards to a larceny complaint. The victim had his power line cut from the power pole by his residence.

CASE # 13-0998 BREAKING AND ENTERING On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, Lt. Wotring responded to a breaking and entering complaint in Terra Alta in which the victim stated that a hay loader attachment had been stolen. The loader is black in color with two red forks. Any witnesses are asked to contact Lt. Wotring. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 13-1012 HIT-N-RUN On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, DFC Sinclair received a hit-n-run complaint from a resident of Tunnelton. The victim was traveling on Route 26 towards Kingwood when a red 90’s model Ford F-150 ran into the back of a ford escort. The Ford is believed to have a different color passenger door. Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to contact Deputy Sinclair.

CASE # 13-1009 BURGLARY On Wednesday, March 20, 2013, Cpl Tichnell received a burglary complaint that occurred on Fox Hollow Road, near Bruceton Mills, in which a new construction home had been broken into. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 13-1035 BURGLARY On Wednesday, March 20, 2013, Sgt Wotring was notified of a string of burglaries that occurred along the Cheat River, Route 72, in the community of Preston. Several camper trailers had been broken into. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 13-1021 LARCENY On Wednesday, March 20, 2013, Chief Deputy Pritt received a phone call from a resident of Quail Drive, near Masontown, in regards to a larceny complaint. The victim stated that his red vehicle, parked for parts, had been stolen. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 13-1034 BURGLARY On Thursday, March 21, 2013, Cpl Dotson responded to a residence on Foley Lane, near Kingwood, in regards to a burglary complaint. This is a continuing investigation.

The North Preston Area Watch (NPAW) will meet Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the North Preston Senior Center. Prosecuting Attorney Mel Snyder will be the guest speaker for the evening. Meeting begins at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
