“Mill Yard Jump Challenge 2018”

Cross Country, Showjumping and Working Hunter Fences
(On Cross Country Course and/or in Sand Arena, weather dependant.)

Sundays 6th May, 3rd June, 1stJuly

5th August and 2nd September (Summer Derby, against the clock)

Entry Fee: £15.00per class pre-entry, £20 on the day

  • Class 1 – Mini (55cm)(Starts 10.30am)
  • Class 2 – Midi (75cm(Starts 12noon. approx.)
  • Class 3 –Pairs (midi course with maxi options)(Starts 1pm approx.)
  • Class 4 – Maxi (90cm)(Starts 2pm approx.)

Rules for Mill Yard Jump Challenge League 2018:

  • Points based League – Clear round including Joker – 5 points
    Joker clear, 4 faults on rest of course– 4 points
    Clear round (Joker not attempted) – 3 points
    4 faults at Joker only – 3 points
    8 Faults over whole course – 2 points
    Over 8 faults (including eliminations) – 1 point
  • Points collected per horse and rider combinations (per class, points cannot be carried between classes)Pairs league points collected per rider combinations only horses may change.
    (Fastest Clear Round wins on 2nd SeptemberSummer Derby event.)
  • In the event of a points tie at Final in Sept., time against the clock will be used to decide league.
  • 4 Faults per fence down, 4 faults per refusal, 4 refusals equals elimination.
  • Any competitor eliminated must leave the course immediately at a walk.
  • Horses are allowed to compete in a maximum of 2 classes.
  • All competitors must wear a protective helmet, manufactured to the minimum specifications. (PAS015, SNELL E2001 or equivalent) (Fixed peaks are not advised.)
  • Body Protectors must be worn, entry onto course will be disallowed without one
  • It is advised that riders have their own public liability and personal accident insurance.
  • The Event will be judged under Mill Yard Rules (based on British Riding Club rules.)
  • The Organisers reserve the right to deny entry to any competitor.
  • The Organisers decision is final.
  • Entries made without payment will be a £20 fee on the day. Withdrawn entries are refundable, provided Mill Yard is notified of the withdrawal before the start of the class.
  • Riders aged 5 years to 7 years must be on a lead rein in cross country field. Riders under 5 years may not enter. Horses must be a minimum of 4 years old.
  • The organisers, judges and assistants accept no responsibility for any accident, damage, illness to horses, owners, riders, ground spectators or property whatsoever.
