Job Summary
-Assist underwriters /actuaries / management for preliminary data reviews and analysis
-Provide supports to General Manager / Area CUOs in relation to Market studies and portfolio Performance analysis
-Report to the office manager on in the daily processing, filing and administration of treaty business booked in Hong Kong office ( Japan / Hong Kong /Taiwan / Philippines / Vietnam )
-Liaison with the Technical Accounting Department ( for Japanese / Hong Kong Markets / The Philippines / Vietnam)
-With the potential to become a P&C Jr. Treaty Underwriter within 4 years
Key duties and responsibilities
  • Assisting the underwriters to review and prepare treaty contract wordings
  • To manage and maintain a good order filing system ( physical ) for all treaty business booked in Hong Kong office ( meeting the local regulatory requirement )
  • To prepare treaty wordings and endorsements of the Japanese portfolio for the General Manager’s signing. This would need a very high co-ordination with our Tokyo office as well as the specialty line underwriters in our regional office.
  • To assist the General Manager / CUOs in market studies ----- market data collection and preliminary data analysis
  • Check and prepare BO reports (identify discrepancy , investigate and correct when necessary) relating to the performance of treaties / markets.
  • To assist CUOs / underwriters on client relationship management, including preparing company profiles and correspondences sent to clients.
  • To scan relevant incoming documents ( including the quarterly Statement of Account ) and send to the respective T.A.s for imputing to Omega System.

Required experience & competencies
Experience:
  • 2 to 3 years working experience ( preferably in a P&C insurance company)
Personal Competences:
  • Pro-active, organized, hardworking, and well groomed
  • Good Inter-personal skill ( communication, negotiation and team-works )
  • Open minded and able to work in multi-culture environment
  • Willing to travel overseas.
  • Excellent learning capability :
-To be familiar with our internal system and tools --- Omega, X’act ,GED and BO in 24 months
-To master basic treaty underwriting skill in 24 months --- including interpreting X’act, CAT modelling and BO reports.
-To obtain a well-recognized insurance qualification ( ACII, FAII etc… ) in 5 years ( max)
Required Education
  • University graduate in Mathematics / Business Studies / Engineering or another subject with strong numerical training.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
