· Achievement 1D: “Make a Family Scrapbook”
We have a variety of Scouting themed scrapbook materials. Scouting will be a big part of your child’s growth; what better way to document it than with a scrapbook! These stickers also help with Electives 4 and 5, Display a Picture and Family Mobile. The scout shop sells these supplies, which range from $3.00 to $30.00.
· Achievement 2G: “Visit a Police Station or Fire Station”
After completing this activity, you may come to the Scout Shop and purchase a Fun Patch for your vest! (Please purchase 2 weeks in advance to ensure you receive the proper quantity)
· Elective 17: “Make a model”
Many Cub Scouting Packs have a Pinewood Derby between January and March; this is an easy elective to complete if your unit is already planning a Pinewood Derby. Units also have a Space Derby in the fall and a Raingutter Regatta in late spring. All of these kits are available for purchase at the Scout Shop, ranging from $2.00 to $200.00.
· Belt Loop and Pins:
Cub Scouts also has a Belt Loop program. Scouts can earn loops that slide on to their Cub Scout belt, which are associated with various academics and sports. Many of the Achievements and Electives the boys work on will allow them to earn a belt loop, or at least get them started. Scouts may go above and beyond the belt loops and earn pins. There is a complete list of belt loops in the back of your Scout’s handbook. There is also an Academics and Sports Leader Book, which gives you a full list of belt loops and pins and the requirements for each. Leader books range from $6.00 to $12.00.
