All India Inter University Roller Sports Championship -2017

General Information & stipulations

Dates and Venue for Championship :- All the disciplines will be conducted from

6th to 11th November 2017 at Punjab University Chandigarh.

Organized by: Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Events:

(1).Speed Skating:

Maximum Skaters allowed from each University in Men & Women are 24 each (24 Men & 24 Women).

Distances for six Inline Speed Skating Races:

Road Race 1 100 Meters Sprint Track Race 1 300 Meters (Time Trial)

Road Race 2 1 Lap Sprint Track Race 2 500 Meters Sprint

Road Race 3 10000 Meters Point Race Track Race 3 1000 Meters Sprint

Note: From each University, a skater can take part in maximum 3 out of 6 races with not more than four skaters taking part in each race.

Road Race:

(i).100Meters Sprint: It is a race on 100m road straight. During the first round, only best times are qualified. The following rounds, the winners of the heat accede directly to the next round and the other skaters are qualified according to the best times in the heats. The final is run by 2 or 3.

(ii).1 Lap Sprint: In each qualification heat, only the winner and the second accede to the following round. The final is run by 4 skaters.

Note: The distance for 1 Lap race on road will depend on the lap distance available for the race. Example: Even if the one lap distance for the road course available is 400 Meters or 450 Meters or 550 meters etc it will be called as 1 Lap race .

(iii).10000 Meters Point Race: This race awards a score for each skater after each fixed point of the course. At the completion of the last lap a greater score will be awarded. The skater totaling the highest number of points wins the race.

Track Race:

(i)300Meters Time Trial(T.T):Skated individually, while the time is taken by means of a timekeeping (electronic or manual). The finish time determines the ranking.

(ii).500Meters Sprint: In each qualification heat, only the winner and the second accede to the following round. The final is run by 4 skaters.

(iii).1000Meters Sprint: Only the winners of the heat accede directly to the next round. The other skaters are qualified according to the best time in the heats.

Racing Suit: All skaters of the same University must wear the same uniform with long or short sleeves with the University Colour.

Helmet: The helmet must be well fastened on the head. A. skater who removes his/her helmet before the end of the race shall be disqualified.

Skates: Skates having a maximum of five wheels, fastened in line. The skate must not exceed fifty centimeters in length. Breaks are forbidden. The maximum diameter of wheels must not exceed hundred and ten millimeters.

(2).Roller Hockey(10 Men & 10 Women): a participating team must comprise of minimum 6 players i.e. 2 Goal Keeper, 4 players and a compulsory substitute Goal Keeper and play at least one match then only the ranking will be done. Team participation will be subject to there being at-least 2 teams in the concerned championships and play at least one match the ranking will be done.

(3).Inline Hockey(16 Men & 16 Women): a participating team must comprise of minimum 8 players i.e. 2 Goal Keeper, 4 players and 1 compulsory substitute Goal Keeper, 2 substitute players and play at least 1 match then only ranking will be done. Team participation will be subject to there being at least 2 teams in the concerned championships and play at least one match the ranking will be done.

(4).Artistic Skating:- Maximum Skaters allowed from each University in Men & Women are 4 each(4 Men & 4 Women). Event: Free Skating (quad).

For Free Skating(Quad) a skater to claim a Gold Medal must first score an average of 6 out of 10 marks, for Silver 5.5 out of 10 mark, for Bronze 5 out of 10 marks. The medals will be given thereafter subject to their ranking. Till unless there are common, Joint winners will not be declared. For example if no one gets 6 marks and above, the person getting say between 5.9 to 5.5 marks will get Silver and one getting less than the said person will get bronze only. Others below them will not get any medals

Note: From each University, four Men & four Women skaters can take part in Free Skating event.

(5).Inline Freestyle Skating: Maximum Skaters allowed from each University in Men & Women are 4 each (4 Men & 4 Women). Event: Inline Speed Slalom. Inline Speed Slalom is about dashing and weaving through a line of cones placed at intervals. The whole objective is to complete the line of cones as fast as possible.

Note: From each University, four Men & four Women skaters can take part in Inline Speed Slalom event.

(6).Skateboarding: Maximum Skaters allowed from each University in Men & Women are 4 each(4 Men & 4 Women).Event: Half Pipe. A participant must score at least an average of 60% marks to get a Gold Medal, for Silver Medal an average of 55% marks and for Bronze Medal an average of 50% marks.

Note: From each University, four Men & four women skaters can take part in Half Pipe event.

General Rules;

(i).Skaters are to participate in one discipline only i.e.in Speed Skating or Artistic Skating or Roller Hockey or Inline Hockey or Freestyle Skating or Skateboarding.

(ii).Skaters are to bring wheels suitable for use on all kind of floors including Asphalt/ Asphalt Coated, Cement – Kota – Cudappa Stone - Tandur Stone – Mosaic – Tarmac – Wooden-Road surfaces etc..
