STC Planning Committee Meeting

MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER, TOWN HALL, SHERINGHAM, ON TUESDAY 20th JULY 2010 AT 7.00PM.

1. TO RECEIVE AND CONSIDER APOLOGIES: Cllr Hedges.

2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST RELATING TO ITEMS ON THE AGENDA: There were no declarations of interest.

3. TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 6TH JULY 2010: The Minutes having been previously circulated Cllr Cox PROPOSED acceptance of the Minutes of the Meeting held on 6th July 2010, Cllr Gant seconded. IT WAS AGREED.

4. TO COMMENT ON THE FOLLOWING PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

No.2690(a) P0/10/0766 London City Mission, 175, Tower Bridge Road, London

Amended Proposal: Erection of Single Storey Dwelling at 2, Cremers Drift, Sheringham

Comment: No Objection

No.2696 PF/10/0776 Ms L Handford, Flagship Housing Group, Keswick Hall, Norwich

Proposal: Variation of Condition 8 of Planning Permission Reference 09/0203 to Permit Occupation of Dwellings once a Final Code Certificate, Certifying that Code Level 2 has been Achieved, has been Issued and Submitted at Land at Lawson Way, Sheringham

Comment: No Objection

No.2697 AN/10/0739 Mr J Handal, J & P Retail T/A Budgens, 2 Church Street, Sheringham

Comment: No Objection

5. ANY OTHER PLANNING MATTERS: The Chairman reported attending

NNDC’s Development Control meeting of 8th July 2010. He reported

Planning Application Ref: PF/10/0639 – 6 Station Road, Sheringham, was

deferred by Officers while investigations are underway regarding the hot food

extraction system and lack of amenity space.

He also reported permission had been granted in relation to Planning

Application ref: PG/10/0536 – 2/6 Station Road, Sheringham. He

confirmed if the applicant intended to use the premises as a restaurant at a later date the Applicant will be required to apply for a Change of Use.

Cllr Cox enquired through The Chairman if any further information had been received regarding Planning Application Ref: PF/10/0482 – 37, High Street, Sheringham. The Chairman reported STC has not received any response regarding this Council’s objections to the metal shutters and that NNDC has given approval to the Application.

Cllr Cox also commented on the new composition of the Planning Committee at NNDC and highlighted the absence of any Sheringham Representatives. He PROPOSED STC writes to the Chief Executive and a copy to Chief Planning Officer to enquire why there is no District Councillors Representing Sheringham on the NNDC Planning Committee, Cllr Burns seconded.

Cllr Hewitt asked for an amendment and PROPOSED that the Town Council write to NNDC asking that the Town Council Planning Committee comments carry greater influence at Development Control Committee meetings in the absence of a Sheringham Representative at District Level, Cllr Gant seconded.

The vote was taken – 4 In favour – 2 Against. IT WAS CARRIED.

6. TO DETERMINE WHICH PLANNING APPLICATIONS THE CHAIRMAN WILL REPRESENT STC’S COMMENTS AT THE NEXT NNDC DEVELOPMENT CONTROL MEETING: There were none on this occasion.
