PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES FOR THE FIRST TRIMESTER WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7, FROM 2:45 – 6:30 PM. REPORT CARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF STUDENTS IN KINDERGARTEN – GRADE 8. IF YOU OWE A TUITION BALANCE, PLEASE SEE MISS DEBBIE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE IMMEDIATELY. ANY PERSON OR GUARDIAN UNABLE TO ATTEND MAY CALL THE SCHOOL AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER AT A SUITABLE TIME.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: Thank you so much for your generous donation of canned goods during our school’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. A total of 1616 cans were collected, boxed, and delivered by our student council to the food pantry at St. Michael’s Church. . Fr. Bob on behalf of the entire St. Michael’s Church team wishes to express his gratitude and appreciation for all your efforts to make our Food Drive such a great success. As a Feinstein leadership school, we are committed to helping others who are less fortunate in our community. Because of your efforts many people were able to enjoy a hearty meal on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you.

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS: On Tuesday, November 22th, our 8th graders packed more than 600 Thanksgiving food baskets for the needy at St. Charles Church. Our school community thanks Mr. Palmer and the 8th grade for a job well done!

LIFETOUCH PICTURE RETAKES: On Wednesday, December 14, Lifetouch will hold picture retakes. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: On Thursday, December 15, our school community will celebrate this festive and holy season through the gift of word and song. Christmas carols sung by our school choir and buddy classes as well as a Scripture reading will celebrate, not only the joy of the Christmas season, but the religious significance of our Savior’s birth. You are invited to join us at 9:30 am in the basement of St. Michael’s Church as we come together during this very holy Christmas season

BISHOP HENDRICKEN BAND AND CHORUS CONCERT: The Bishop Hendrickson High School Band & Chorus will perform a special Christmas concert for our school on Friday, December 16, at 10:30 AM. We are very grateful for their gifts of time and talents at our school during this Christmas season!

SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS/DELAYS: Our school’s cancellation policies follow that of the Providence public schools. Please watch or listen to the local television and radio stations for cancellation or delay notices.

TUITION PAYMENTS: Please remember that tuition payments are due on the 20th of each month. It is crucial to the operation of this school that all tuition payments are made to the school office on a timely manner. If you are currently behind in your payments, please contact the school office immediately

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMS: Catholic high school entrance exams will be given at 8 am on Saturday, December 3rd to 8th graders. Students should have contacted the admissions office at the high school of choice to register. A parent or guardian must accompany the student if registration has not been completed. There is also a fee to each prospective Catholic high school. The student should take the exam at the school of first choice. Two #2 pencils are necessary.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL @ STADIUM THEATER: Grades 4 & 5 will attend the play “A Christmas Carol” at the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket on Friday, December 2, at 9 AM. Students are to be in full school uniform. Permission slips must be signed by a parent/guardian in order to attend.

BOTANICAL CENTER: Students in grades 3 – 5 will visit the Botanical Center at Roger Williams Park on Wednesday, December 7, at 10:15 AM. Permission slips must be signed by a parent/guardian in order to attend.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS: Please note that boys and girls in grades 4- 8 are required to wear either yellow or white dress shirts. Ties and belts are mandatory. Shirts and blouses must be neatly tucked in at all times. Proper footwear consists of black or brown shoes and only black sneakers are permitted. White sneakers are only allowed on physical education days. Students’ appearances are a direct reflection of our school and ultimately the greatest benefit of dressing neatly in proper attire is to our students. Please support us in this matter by checking your child’s uniform each day before leaving school. Thank you.

FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION: Thursday, December 8th, marks the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It is a holy day of obligation and our school will attend mass together as a faith community. Mass begins at 9:30 a.m. and, as always, you are most welcome to celebrate the liturgy of the mass with us.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Our boys basketball team is undefeated with a perfect 2 – 0 record. Their next game is against St. John the Evangelist on Sunday, December 4, at 2 p.m. The game will be played at the St. John the Evangelist in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

GREGG’S GIVING TREE: Once again our school was selected by Gregg’s Restaurants for their Christmas Giving Tree program. Santa and his helpers with the assistance of our good friends at Gregg’s will be making a special appearance at our school on Monday, December 12.

BREAKFAST WITH PROUT: On Tuesday, December 20, members of the Prout National Honor Society will visit with our 2nd graders for a Christmas breakfast. We thank Prout High School for bringing yuletide cheer as well as many goodies for our 2nd graders.

CHRISTMAS VACATION: The last day of school will be on Wednesday, December 21. School will re-open on Tuesday, January 3. The school will be open for daycare from 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on the following dates: December 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, & 30. There is no daycare on Monday, January 2.

AS WE AWAIT THE BIRTH OF CHRIST DURING THIS HOLY SEASON OF ADVENT, LET OUR HEARTS BE FILLED WITH THE PEACE AND JOY OF GOD’S LOVING PRESENCE. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!
