Job Title: Juvenile Justice Ministry Administrator

Supervisor: Director of Student Ministries

Hours: Part-time, 20 hrs/week

Key Objectives

The JJM Administrator is responsible for managing a substantial amount of data entry work related to COYFC chaplaincy ministry in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center (FCJDC). As well as provide general operations assistance, including but not limited to; answering phones, processing office mail, coordination and production of mailings, daily interfacing with detention center leadership and staff, and other various administrative responsibilities as directed by the Director of Student Ministries.

Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination

·  Regularly communicate with JJM FCJDC volunteers, supporting their efforts
·  Coordinate volunteer schedules with FCJDC staff schedules and youth attendance
·  Assist Leadership Development department with volunteer screening, following FCJDC protocol and trainings
·  Work to build sustainable volunteer teams to serve youth inmates at the FCJDC
·  Regularly initiate prayer and provide spiritual encouragement to volunteers

Data Entry

·  Clarify and streamline data entry systems to effectively track ministry progress

·  Regularly update YFC Impact and JJM FCJDC ministry site reporting for chapter statistics

Ministry Liaison
·  Daily communication and interfacing with Juvenile Detention Center leadership and staff on behalf of JJM, as well as trouble-shooting any issues which may arise in serving youth at the center
·  Maintain a positive working rapport with Juvenile Detention Center leadership and staff

General Office Duties

·  Answer phones and forward messages
·  Greet and assist volunteers who enter the FCJDC
·  Various other duties as needed and directed by the Director of Student Ministries

Skills and Qualifications:

·  Administrative/organizational orientation and gifting

·  Strong time management and ability to solve problems

·  Experience and skill with computer software, particularly Microsoft Excel, databases, internet/email

·  Interpersonal and communication skills

·  Excellent clerical skills, including typing

·  Reliable and responsible

·  Ability to manage confidential data related to people

·  Experienced in successful management of multiple tasks in a fast paced office environment

·  Teachable and able to take input from supervisor and peers, and field interactions with FCJDC staff

·  Has reliable transportation

·  Ability to work in the “YFC culture” with a personal burden for youth ministry
