Monday, Dec. 1st
The African American community is in a health crisis! From breast and prostate cancers, to HIV/ AIDS, to bone marrow donor registration, health and wellness issues are vital to us all. Join the men of Alpha Phi Alpha for a HEALTH SEMINAR in the Center for Black Culture and Learning at 7pm.
Tuesday, Dec. 2nd
“We must cherish our elders, because if we are lucky, we will one day be them.” At 7 pm come to the Oxford View Nursing Home and join the Brothers as we brighten the day of some of Oxford’s “more distinguished residents.” Afterward, come to House of Alpha and learn more about our most distinguished fraternity in an Alpha Awareness Seminar (beginning at 8:15pm).
Wednesday, Dec. 3rd
Alpha Phi Alpha is proud to present “Am I Miami?: The State of Racial Affairs on Miami’s Campus.” Come listen to an all-star panel discuss the issues that you feel are important as they respond the audience’s questions and comments. This rare event starts promptly at 7:06pm and will be held in 128 Pearson.
Thursday, Dec. 4th Founder’s Day
Remember Soulmate? Everyone’s favorite dating game gets a facelift as the Brothers present Soulmate 2.0. Come to 128 Pearson Hall at 8:00pm to find out if there is Love Connection or our participants will leave Singled Out. Come to the House of Alpha at 10:06pm as we celebrate our 7 Jewels in Dedication Show for Miami’s campus.
Friday, Dec. 5th
Go to High School, Go to College: The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha welcome seniors from St. Xavier high school in Cincinnati. Be sure to talk these young men as they “shadow” Alpha Brothers all day. Join us as we support our Brother Breon Jackson, the lead in this semester’s production Bird’s at the Center for Performing Arts at 8pm.
Saturday, Dec. 6th
The Black & Gold Extravaganza: At 7:06pm the doors open to Miami’s only Black-tie gala and dance designed for our community. This year’s event will be bigger than ever with special co-sponsors Black Student Action Association, Asian American Association, Association of Latin American Students, Multi-cultural Student Professional Association, and the Miami Flyers Cycling Team. Dinner will be served promptly at 8pm.
***Sunday. Dec. 7th- The Brothers of and urge you to join us for a special worship experience as the college men lead Bethel AME in Sunday Morning’s worship service.
