5)Unique Activities:While Block Parties continue to grow in success thanks to the time, effort and financing everyone places in each; we need to continue to look toward offering our patrons new experiences which keep them wanting to come back week after week. What activities,besides musical entertainment, will take place at your Block Party? Please note: Points will be added to applications who demonstrate they bring new ideas to implement at this year’s Block Party.

6) Cost Savings:The EDP is always looking for ways to become more efficient and reduce the overall costs of Block Parties. Do you have any idea(s) on what could be changed to become more cost efficient? How can you assist with the reduction of the cost of these events to the EDP?

Set up/tear down and crowd control - you must provide at least four (4) additional personnel who are designated to assist ONLY the EDP staff with set up, tear down and crowd safety of the event. Providing these four (4) individuals to assist with set up,clean up and crowd control is mandatory and does not provide us with a reduction of costs.

7) Charity Benefit: Last year’s Charity Fundraising beat all expectations and we are hoping we can do it again in 2015. We consistently have non-profit agencies calling us to see how they can be chosen as the benefactor of a Block Party. As a reminder, all charitable donations must be reported to the EDP one week after your event has taken place or they will not be considered for Charity Contribution Contest.

8) Drawing:
Due to the growth of Block Parties, crowd size and safety and flow/movement have been discussed with the city of Erie. To accommodate these factors, the Erie Downtown Partnership will require that the bandwagon be placed perpendicular or “T”ed at the end of the block.
Attach a drawing of the requested layout of your block for the night of the event.The EDP determines the final set-up of each event.Remember to include:
- Location of businesseson the block as a reference point
- Proposed block end in which the bandwagon will be placed (“T”’ed)
- If the Erie Downtown Partnership determines eminent inclement weather, we will provide one tent.
- Proposed location of Port-a-Potties AND any additional tents (Note: City code will not allow for any tents to be placed on sidewalk areas)
- Proposed location of sound tent (not provided by the Erie Downtown Partnership)
- Proposed location for any additional fundraising or other items to complete your event.
- REMEMBER a 20’ fire lane must be maintained through the block. While the lane can be filled with people, it must be clear of all other obstructions.
