Leadership in Mission Grant Guidelines

Description

The Leadership in Mission Grant (LMG) is designed to support Benedictine University faculty, students and

staffwho are interested in attending conferences and workshops that focus on elements of Catholic social teaching, the Catholic intellectual tradition and/or the Benedictine wisdom tradition.The LMG will assist those individuals, who, through their attendance, demonstrate their commitment to living the Catholic and Benedictine values espoused by the university. To provide an opportunity for the university community to share in the experience, grant recipients will give a brief presentationexplaining the nature of the experience and its relationship to our Catholic and Benedictine traditionsat the first Conversatio Round Table Discussion of the following academic year

Purpose

The purpose of the Leadership in Mission Grant is to provide funding for activities that explicitly promote the Catholic and Benedictine aspects of the university mission. Projects and attendance and/or participation in conferences and workshops that enhance the knowledge and active engagement of the participant in some area of Catholic Social teaching, the Catholic intellectual tradition and the Benedictine wisdom tradition will be considered for grant funding.

Guidelines

To be eligible to submit proposals and to be considered for the Leadership in Mission Grant:

You must be employed at Benedictine University as a faculty member, student or staff member.

Proposals must be submitted by: August 30, November 30, February 28 and April 30.

Any proposals received after a deadline will be held for the next review period.

The LMGApplication Form must be completed and submitted electronicallyto the Assistant to thePresident for Mission Integration. This application should include a completed LMG Budget Outline,a Travel Request Form and supporting documentation of all proposed expenses to .

The application, along with required documents, must be sent in a single email. Any application that is submitted in multiple emails will be returned to the applicant with a request to consolidate the documentation into one email.

The CMI Advisory Board has the right to request an interview and additional information from the applicant.

Proposals will be reviewed by the CMI Advisory Board who will make every effort to notify the applicant within thirty (30) days of the application deadline period.

Funding amounts will be determined by fundingavailabilityand the scope of university enhancement made possible through the experience.
