Program Manager

Job Description

Under the direction of the Program Officer, the Program Manager has primary responsibility for developing and managing Maine Cancer Foundation’s (MCF) Challenge Cancer 20|20 collective impact initiative. She/he will work closely with the Program Officer, MCF staff, Board of Directors and Maine cancer stakeholders to further a collective impact initiative focused on reducing the burden of cancer in Maine.

The Program Manager position is a full-time, 18 month contract position with the potential for extended employment. Some weekend and evening hours are required as well as attendance at various Foundation events. Regular statewide travel is required. This position is eligible for MCF employee benefits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, manage and oversee Maine Cancer Foundation’s Challenge Cancer 20|20 collective impact (CCCI) initiative

oFormulate implementation strategy for the CCCI initiative including an engagement plan

oManage budget for CCCI activities

oCoordinate all aspects of meetings and conferences related to the CCCI initiative

oWith stakeholders, draft CCCI community plan with clear outcomes

oWith stakeholders, establish shared measurement system for the CCCI initiative

oMonitor progress toward the collective impact initiative’s goals and objectives

oCoordinate and oversee a series of 50 statewide community conversations focused on reducing the overall burden of cancer in Maine

oSupport MCF workgroup based projects

oProvide administrative support for the CCCI initiative

Collect and document quantitative and qualitative data related to cancer in Maine and the CCCI initiative

oSupport the CCCI initiative data team

Execute the CCCI initiative communications plan using a dedicated website, e-newsletters, social media, and other sources.

Provide support for the CCCI Leadership Roundtable team

Cultivate and maintain relationships with Maine cancer stakeholders and funding sources

Attend collective impact training events

Provide CCCI initiative content to MCF’s Development team

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Extensive experience with outreach and facilitation

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience with collecting, recording and evaluating quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Ability to multi-task in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities

Ability to work flexible hours when necessary and travel regularly

Commitment to reducing the burden of cancer in Maine

Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED

Knowledge of and experience with:

oMaine’s cancer community

oMaine’s public health stakeholders and oncology professionals

oDiverse communities throughout Maine

oCollective impact initiatives
