ACCEPTANCE WEEKEND
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
FRIDAY, August 8, 2014
0720 – Colors Formation – Flagpole
0730 – 1300 – Parents Registration & Information Pick-up,Land Hall
0745 – 1600 – Open Classroom Visitations. Visits are on a space available basis. This is your opportunity to visit the classrooms and observe the learning atmosphere your Plebe experiences. Obtain your Plebe’s class schedule and have him/her ask the instructor if there is space for you to attend.
1000 – 1600 – Mariners’ Chapel Open for general visiting
1000 – 1500 – American Merchant Marine Museum Open for general visiting
1100 – 1300 – Pick up Boxed Lunch (Ticket Required***) – Melville Hall
1200 – 1210 – View Lunch Muster and Regimental March in – Barney Square
1300 – 1400 – Welcome Aboard/Parents Forum w/Superintendent, Dean, and Commandant – Ackerman Auditorium
1430 – 1515 – History of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy w/ Dr. George Billy-Library
1615 – 1715 – Regimental Parade Practice (Mandatory for all Midshipmen and Plebe Candidates)
1730 – Campus Liberty for 2018 begins. Class of 2018 cannot leave campus.
1730 – 1900 – Family Dinner with the Regiment (This is the only time family is allowed to eat with the Plebe’s in Delano) – Delano Hall (Ticket Required***)
1900 – 1915 – Band Concert- Barney Square (inclement weather: event cancelled)
1930 – Movie in Ackerman (Free admission, open to all)
2100 – Campus Liberty Ends for Class of 2018.
Visiting Times for the Waterfront, Labs, and Simulator spaces will be based upon the Academic class schedule for 8 August. The schedule for visiting times will be available when you arrive.
Dress for Friday is informal: e.g. slacks/shorts and sport shirts for men; dresses, skirts or slacks/shorts for women. Low-heeled shoes are recommended.

0930 – Formal Parade and Acceptance Day Ceremony – Tomb Field
30 Minutes after Formal Parade overnight Liberty Commences for the Class of 2018. Plebes will be dismissed from Barney Square.
Dress for Saturday is casual. Low-heeled shoes are recommended.

1115 – Protestant Service – Mariners Chapel
1800 - Liberty Expires for Class of 2018

***PURCHASE OF TICKETS FOR BOX LUNCH AND/OR DINNER IN DELANO
If you would like to eat dinner with your Plebe Candidate in Delano on Friday evening and/or have a Box Lunch prepared for you for Friday afternoon you must purchase tickets in advance.
The cost for a box lunch is $11.00 per person. The cost for Dinner in Delano is $16.00 per person.
You will NOT need to purchase a ticket for your Plebe Candidate.
How to Purchase Meal Tickets
1. Send your Plebe Candidate a check/cash and have him/her purchase the ticket(s) in person in Delano Hall.
OR
2. Fill out the Meal Ticket Order Form and mail it back to the address listed on the form. Your tickets can be picked up when you arrive or by your Plebe Candidate prior to your arrival.
All checks must be made out to “Crystal Enterprises Inc.”
