Minutes of Meeting held 2nd November 2015 at 8 p.m. at the Rob. Hotel

Minutes of 12th October meeting were read – alterations being:

- Add Adrian Menzel as an apology.

- Leave out wording op shop “closed” as was just temporarily closed.

- Question re website – Treasurer was advised by Digital Pacific that website was owned by Robertstown Agencies.

Business arising from minutes:

v  Lamp post – not yet collected.

v  Railway crane – developing plan of attack – waiting for timber.

v  Policy on mower use – next meeting.

v  Correction – Robertstown website is owned by Robertstown War Memorial Community Centre (RWMCC). C.M. Inc pay on behalf of RWMCC.

v  Hard waste collection – close to 6th March 2016 “Clean Up Aust. Day” – put in Robby Roundup in January.

v  Email from Adrian Menzel (VC). Adrian informed committee it was not intended to be written from the Vice Chairman. Adrian moved, seconded John Neal “That Chairperson write to Monica Davies to apologize and explain email from Adrian was not from the committee but from Adrian personally.” Carried

Moved Fred Lang, seconded Bob Neilson “That we do not accept Monica’s resignation”. Passed by majority.

REPORTS

Financial:

·  Opening balance $2,231.90 – paid $330 paint, $55.53 fuel & solar panel.

·  Closing balance $1,846.37, LLL $7,516.25.

Council: report by John

·  Working on Burra Tourism Concept.

·  Still gathering info on B double access to the Eudunda silos before going to public consultation on a proposed heavy vehicle route.

·  Raymond Hawkins spoke on Come Home program and his electronic swagman possibilities.

·  Calling for expressions of interest in our Industrial Estate at Burra.

·  Bushfire season brought forward to 1st November.

·  Approved $8,970 for Robbie Hall from Ward Funds.

Football: Patrick absent

·  AGM Friday 13th November at Eudunda.

Bowling Club: report by Dean

·  Roller door has been fitted and has tidied up the BBQ area.

·  The ceiling has had repairs done to it by the bar area.

·  Our green’s manager has ripped on 3 sides of the green to break up the root system of trees and bushes. The whole area has had a cleanup.

·  Our men’s first division has had 1 win and come second on 3 occasions, whereas our 2nd division has started the season much better with 3 wins and 1 loss.

·  After 5 matches both women’s teams are first and second.

·  Our greens are looking good and I’ve been told by the opposition it’s bowling better. Thanks to our green’s workers.

Day Centre: report by Mike

·  27th October – trip to Morgan was cancelled – watched a DVD instead, then shared a lunch.

·  11th November will be attending Remembrance Day Ceremony at War Memorial next to Community Centre.

·  23rd November – trip to Gawler Cinema in private cars.

Lutheran Church: report by Wendy

·  Yesterday we had a Parish Service at Robertstown followed by a meeting where we voted that our Parish amalgamate with the Eudunda Parish.

·  Following the service we had the Longest Lunch at the Community Centre. Our church supplied the BBQ meats and salads and the Uniting Church supplied fruit salad and icecream. It was a very enjoyable day with around 85 people attending.

Robertstown Primary School: report by Wendy

·  Our whole school camp was held last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Roonka Aquatics Camp at Blanchetown and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

·  We are having a special morning tea on Wednesday to thank parents and any others who have helped our school during the year.

·  This year we have decided to have our School Concert on a Friday night, so it will be on Friday 4th December. This is due to our swimming lessons being held in the last week of school.

·  Next year we will not have any Year 6 or 7 children.

Community Centre: report by Marg

·  Letters to have adverts included on the Community Calendar were sent out and some replies have been received.

·  There will be a meeting of the Community Centre Board towards the end of November.

·  The Post Office is coping with the volunteers running it in Sharon’s absence. Some Xmas gifts have been obtained and are now on sale.

Basketball: report by Sharon

·  Hosting Melbourne Cup Luncheon with Tennis Club.

Tennis: report by Sharon

·  Hosting Melbourne Cup Luncheon with Basketball Club.

Netball: report by Sharon

·  In recess. BBQ at Eudunda Show.

Peace Hall: report by Maureen

·  Supper room floor completed.

·  Strawberry Fete 21st November.

Point Pass Hall, Park & Tennis Club: no report

Garden Group: report by Toni

·  Watering of new plants main job at present.

·  Need to call a meeting to discuss placement of community group pavers – general discussion with some members – suggest they go in groupings down pretend Goyder’s Line.

·  Minor works request had no action, so needs another request.

Health Advisory Council: report by Toni

·  Members will be manning information trailer at Eudunda and Kapunda Shows.

Kesab: report by Sharon

·  Judging to take place from next weekend.

·  Adrian Menzel moved, seconded Mike Colbey, “That we add an additional category of “Rural Gardens” with $25 prize.” Carried

·  Open Day “What Kesab is about” but Sharon unable to attend.

Telecommunications: report by Adrian

·  Burra will get NBN next year.

·  This area will have wireless broadband.

·  Request Adrian to make enquiries re trying to get better TV reception.

Hotel Social Club: report by Bob

·  Have a Christmas raffle.

·  Next meeting 6th December at 6pm at Community Centre. Will be tea for community.

Op Shop: report by Val

·  The months of August, September and October have been steady with passing through the town customers and regular locals.

·  Income August - $111.00. Expenditure $18.50 coffee etc.

·  Income September - $129.90. Expenditure $22.90 milk and sugar

·  Income October - $76.00. Expenditure $14.00 milk.

General Business:

Ø  Greetings form Terry Rule and Sally who are now at Pinnaroo.
