Today we will incorporate the serve in the VB game

Students must work together to keep the VB up in the air on their teams
Challenge students to see if they can get 3 passes before passing over the net(25min)
Volleyball game the team that wins stays on the court
Losing team gets off and waits to play again

Date: 10/4/12 – 10/5/12 / Objective: TSW be in teams of 6 competing against each other. Students will demonstrate the serve and all skills related to VB.

  • Students will demonstrate all skills in a VB game situation
  • Students must show teamwork in order to be successful, if your team wins you keep playing
  • Students must try to control their pass on their teams. Are they using 3 passes? Are they moving?

  • Monitor groups checking if technique is correct
  • Provide positive feedback to the students
  • Are students moving around going after the VB helping their teammates
  • Are students being successful showing teamwork

  • You will be serving to each other in the VB game
  • Demonstrate the rotation technique and what position serves
  • Review of serving technique

  • Students are competing/showing effort trying to win the game
  • If you team wins you keep playing, loser gets off then rotate

Intro to New Material:
  • Students using teamwork on 6 on 6 drill/game
  • 3 passes minimum on your side of the court
  • Winning team stays on court then rotate
