Monday: Unit 28 Lesson 1 Skill:-dge
Concept: -dge has place value.
Students will read and spell words with –dge.
Each student will –dge learn and write the letters and say the sound /j/.
Students will trace the dash and letters with fingers saying letter names followed by sound.
Students will use memorize the /j/ sound can be spelled –dge.
Student will read from practice sheet page 28-5. Students read the words and sentences with teacher guidance.
Oral Reading: bonnie Kline: Hodgepodge
Spell tabs: dictate the following words: edge, judge, just, pledge, bridge. Students apply finger spelling technique.
Sentence Dictation: 1. The dog will not budge. 2. The edge of tin can is sharp.
Spelling List: 1.badge 2. pledge 3.bridge 4.fudge 5.edge 6.other 7.eye 8.pitch 9.stretch 10.sketch
Tuesday: Unit 28: Lesson 2 Skill: red Words/ Phonetically Irregular Words (other eye)
Display the words other and eye from the red word pack.
Students will tap out letter names on arm.
Students trace over the words with a red crayon.
Oral reading: Bonnie Kline Story: Other
Sentence dictation: 1. What other bike needs to be fixed? 2. I have other pets. 3. Bill has a patch on his eye. 4. Did you rub your eye? 5. His eye is red. 6. I saw the cat eye the fish.

Wednesday: Unit 28 Test
Thursday: Unit 29 Lesson 1 skill: oo as in /boo/
Concept: The grapheme /oo/ is a diphthong having two speech sounds as in the words [boo] and [look].
Students will gain knowledge and understanding of the term diphthong.
Students will read and write words with the /oo/ boo diphthong.
Skywrite – Students will aim at the symbol and say letter names wile tracing around each letter and saying sound while tracing around the diphthong sound sign.
Students will trace around symbol from page 29-9.
Students will use memory box to write the diphthong into memory box.
Check for understanding: Students will practice reading word list with teacher guidance page 29-11. Students will practice reading sentences orally on page 29-13.
Spelling: Teacher will dictates words from word list on page 29-9 that have been selected as jewel box words in Unit 29. The words are: soon, smooth, food, spoon, noon, loose, room, choose.
Sentences for Dictation: 1. Did you clean your room? 2. Jeff chipped his tooth. 3. Mark left at noon.
Oral Reading: Bonnie Kline stories: Fantastic Grass, A Cool Cartoon.
Friday: Unit 29 Lesson 2 Skill: red words: mother, father, brother
Display the words mother, father, and brother.
Tap letter names out on arm and sweep word together.
Trace around letters of words on page 29-17 with red crayon.
