Course Description
The focus is on the basic principles concerning production, consumption, and distribution of goods and services in the U.S. and a comparison with those of other countries around the world. Students examine the rights and responsibilities of consumers and businesses. Students analyze the interaction of supply, demand, and price and study the role of financial institutions in a free enterprise system. Types of business ownership and market structures are discussed, as are basic concepts of consumer economics. Homework
Homework is due when you arrive to class, unless otherwise noted. Any work turned in after I have picked it up is considered late. You are allowed to turn in assignments up to 1 full day late with a penalty of 20 points. Work turned in after this may be accepted for a reduced grade at my discretion. If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to get the make-up work and turn it in on time.
Tardy Policy & Leaving Class
Leaving class frequently is not allowed. Students are never allowed to leave class to go to the vending machines. Emergency situations will be dealt with if they arise and at my discretion.
Academic Honesty
There is a clear expectation that all students will perform assignments with honor and integrity. Cheating in class, copying homework assignments, or plagiarism will result in no credit (zero) for the test or assignment and may result in parental notification and/or administrative referral. There is a zero-tolerance cheating policy in my class and it will be strictly enforced.
