There was a King and his advisors. Strong army conquered many tribes and keep records of all past rulers.

/ Government controlled the food. Produced by the farmers. The Incas were a highly agricultural society. The Incas had no official currency, but crops and gold were often used for trading. Farmers had a hard life in this kind of economic society. They worked very hard but were only allowed to keep 1/3 of their crops after taxes.

/ Religion varied by village due to local deities. Most religions were polytheistic. All religions of the Inca held the belief that that the emperor was the son of the sun god. Incas also worshiped sites associated with emperors or anything that thought holy. They believed in life after death.

/ The Inca were above all and had absolute power . Below him were royal families who were related to the Inca. Everyone else was divided into clans which regulated marriage and taxes. Women and men were fairly equal as the women could divorce under certain circumstances and they were highly valued. At age 16, people would marry and start a family. The man and woman each having important responsibilities.

/ The upper class Incas were educated by high scholars while the lower class was educated by local elders. Bronze was a major tool in Incan art The Incan government built a road system and massive temples. Incas used a complex system of counting a way which we haven’t decoded. Their music used wood and percussion instruments. Its unclear whether they had writing. Most Inca stories were transmitted orally.

/ The Incas were found in South America along the western coast. They lived on harsh terrain on the AndesMountains. The mountains had some plateaus, but they were bad for farming. For this reason, civilization sprang up along the steep cliffs of the mountains.
