OU Office of Trademark Licensing/Majestic Athletic Grant
The University of Oklahoma Office of Trademark Licensing is offering grants up to $5,000 to all OU Registered Student Organizations (RSO). These grants will serve to promote OU licensed product by providing support to student-led branding and licensing initiatives through financial, educational and merchandising opportunities. These grants are funded by Majestic Athletic, an OU apparel licensee. For more information regarding Majestic, please visit http://www.vfc.com/brands/vf-imagewear/majestic.
The grants are an opportunity for student organizations to supplement existing programs; develop new initiatives; and/or explore fundraising opportunities. Student groups are encouraged to be creative but should limit ideas to content that is consistent with the OU brand. For OU brand information, please visit http://www.soonersports.com/licensing.
Grant Application Requirements & Procedures
· Requirements for consideration:
o Student organizations must be an official OU Registered Student Organization (RSO)
o RSO’s can only receive one grant per academic year
o Grant funds received must be utilized in the academic calendar year for which it was granted
o Grant applications should be submitted at least one month prior to event/activities
§ Grant proposals should factor lead times that may be associated with resources requested
o Grants must be used exclusively to cover the cost of branding and/or licensing initiatives, including but not limited to:
§ Branding or re-branding of the RSO’s logo
· Funds may not be used for website creation/updates
§ Apparel distributed to the RSO’s members
§ Apparel produced for an event organized by the RSO
§ Apparel sold as a fundraiser for the RSO
o Ideas should include Majestic in at least one of the following ways:
§ Utilize Majestic graphic designers to help create or re-brand the RSO’s logo
§ Utilize Majestic to design AND produce apparel for the RSO
§ Utilize Majestic staff for RSO project consultation
o While Majestic specializes in apparel, preferential consideration will be given to innovative and creative submissions that include more than apparel considerations (e.g. event development, marketing, comprehensive growth strategies, etc.)
o Submissions must be received at least four weeks before the date the funds are requested
o RSO’s receiving a grant must provide a postmortem report within 2 weeks of event taking place.

§ If the postmortem report is not received within the first 2 weeks after the event has taken place, the RSO will not be eligible for future Majestic grants.
Submissions may be sent to . Applications must be submitted two weeks prior to the month in which applicant would like their submission viewed. All qualifying applicants must also participate in an interview to be conducted the first Monday of the month succeeding application submission, HSC and OU-Tulsa students may interview via phone. Amendments to submitted applications can be made at the discretion of the review committee. Approved grant allotments will be dispersed within two weeks of application approval. All applicants will be informed of review committee decisions via email within two (2) business days of interview.
