Pre-Employability Leadership Training Program

Information & Application

The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce is offering pre-employability leadership training to Genesee County high school students, who are currently 14-18 years of age and in grades 9-12 in the 2015/2016 school year. Successful completion of this training program will be your entry to apply to the 2016Summer Youth Initiative Job Fair and access to other employment opportunities throughout the year. Many teens who have completed the TeenQuest training program have secured summer jobs with area nonprofit agencies earning minimum wage.

Here are the requirements:

  • Attend high school in Genesee County (public, private, charter, alternative, home school)
  • Currently are 14-18 years old and in grades 9-12(must meet both age and grade levels in the 2015-16 school year)
  • Will commit to attend the program two hours per day after school, Monday-Thursday, over a five-week period.
  • Will bring a positive attitude and a goal of successfully completing the TeenQuest Program!

TeenQuest training will be offered several times throughout the school year at various school sites around Genesee County. These options allow you to participate in other activities, such as sports and other clubs that you would also like to do after school.
