Role summary
TWP is a registered charity providing services to vulnerable women across Yorkshire and Humberside with centres in 4 of the main cities including outreach services in Keighley and New Hall Prison.
Our Key Workers engage with and provide intensive support to women; offering one-to-one and group work support, guidance, information and signposting, and therefore contributing to a reduction in offending. The aim being to raise aspirations, build confidence and self esteem, as well as providing access routes into participation, education, training and employment, housing, personal development amongst others.
The Parenting and Family Resettlement Worker will join a team which provides a range of services but will focus on supporting women from within New Hall prison both pre and post release; offering needs-led, emotional and practical support around parenting, family and relationships.
Our core working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm; however we offer flexibility around working patterns. On occasion there may be possible evening and weekend work.
Key accountabilities
· Responsible for a caseload of clients to whom you will provide high quality family focused support via the following:
o Receiving and processing referrals in line with current practice guidelines.
o Assessing the needs of women in custody and their dependents, including risk assessment and review those assessments at regular intervals in order to make sure that they remain accurate and up to date.
o Building effective relationships with women and their children; to encourage them to identify and respond to their needs, interests and personal development.
o Provide guidance and support to women and their children on a range of issues (as identified in support plan) including parenting skills, healthy eating, child development and relationships on a one to one basis and via group activities both within the prison setting and TWP community centre.
o Work closely with TWP community centres and partner agencies to ensure smooth integration into the community and transition of support package upon release
o Work with partner agencies and the local authority to achieve improved outcomes for families.
o Providing on site crèche provision to enable mothers to access services within the centre.
o Encouraging feedback from women and children using the service in order to promote quality assurance.
o Signposting women and children to other services which cannot be provided in house and to support them in accessing those services.
o Attend, as required, a range of multi-agency meetings and participate in, and actively contribute to, the development and delivery of multi-agency plans.
o Comply with TWP’s procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
§ Ensure all necessary records are properly maintained in line with policies on client files, finance, and administration.
§ Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders including: Local Authorities, Social Care, children and family services, prison service, Jobcentre plus, DWP, Drug agencies, Health agencies, education and training providers, and other voluntary sector providers to maximise services to individuals.
§ Network with relevant individuals, agencies and community resources.
§ Contribute to measuring and monitoring systems as required.

Essential Requirements / Desirable Requirements
§ Experience of the delivery of services for women
§ Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by women offenders and those at risk of offending.
