WRITING REVIEW:

Use the following prompts to help prepare for the writing portion of your final exam.

1.  You are responding to your pen pal in Spain. They want to know more about the life of a typical teenager in the United States. Tell them what a typical American teenager does in school, on the weekends, and on vacations from school. Specifically describe school, classes, and obligations that you have. Tell them what you did over Thanksgiving break and what you are planning to do on your upcoming winter break.

2.  You just arrived late to an appointment with your teacher and are trying to explain what happened to delay you. Tell him how you usually get ready and leave the house. Then him what happened to you this morning to make you late (your mom made you do some extra chores, etc.). Be sure to include sequential words when telling what usually happens, and what happened this morning.

3.  You are giving advice to incoming freshman for next school year. Tell them what high school is like. Describe a typical schedule, things that must be done in class, typical things the teachers do and say, after school and extracurricular activities, etc. Compare and contrast several different electives and/or extracurricular activities and tell them what your opinion is on each. Lastly, tell them what they must do in order to be successful (tener éxito) in high school.
