BRENT COBB’S “MORNIN’S GONNA COME” VIDEO DEBUTS AT RELIX
NEW ALBUM PROVIDENCE CANYON
OUT MAY 11
ON TOUR NOW, WILL JOIN “CHRIS STAPLETON’S
ALL-AMERICAN ROAD SHOW” THIS SUMMER/FALL
The official music video for Brent Cobb’s new single, “Mornin’sGonna Come,” is premiering today at Relix, who call it, “awesome,” and further that the album, “maintains the warm, engaging spirit of its predecessor.” WatchHERE. The song is from the Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and performer’shighly anticipated new album, Providence Canyon, due May 11 on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records (pre-order).
Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album features eleven songs including “King of Alabama,” of which Rolling Stoneproclaims “Come for the raw twang and countrified croon; stay for the Thin Lizzy guitarmonies that punctuate the bridge, proving that Cobb still isn’t unafraid to push beyond his genre’s borders.” NPR Music’s Ann Powers furthers, “Cobb, a troubadour whose classic country-rock songs are enhanced by his warm heart and keen eye, tells Mills’ story with grace and discretion, as does the charming animated video…Cobb kicks out a Keith Richards-in-Muscle Shoals riff on his acoustic guitar and it melds perfectly with the organ to form a foundation that’s pure, easy locomotion. Each verse follows another like the stretch of blacktop between exits, resolving in a chorus that’s breezy and uplifting without unsettling the song’s groove. Far from maudlin, Cobb’s tribute does exactly what Mills did: it keeps on rocking, headlights on, until the last note.”The accompanying video, which Rolling Stone asserts, “[it] adds an appropriately surreal touch to Cobb’s tale of unruffled heroism and blue-collar nobility,”can be watched/shared HERE.
Each digital pre-order comes with an immediate download of “King of Alabama” and “Mornin’sGonna Come” as well as “Ain’t A Road Too Long,” which debuted last year.
In celebration of the album, Cobb’s “Ain’t A Road Too Long” tour is currently underway, featuring special guest Savannah Conley. Following these headline dates, Cobb will once again join Chris Stapleton on his “All-American Road Show” this summer and fall including dates at L.A.’s The Forum, Chicago’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre and New York’s Madison Square Garden.
